It’s been a busy few weeks for PlayStation console owners, with plenty of new releases and news to enjoy.
H1Z1 has been one of the most recent PS4 releases, along with the announcement of the new PS Plus June 2018 lineup of free games.
There’s also been a new update concerning the PS5 release date, which may also interest fans.
For H1Z1 fans, this week has seen the development team confirm some of the new features being worked on.
The Battle Royale game from DayBreak Studios has proven a big hit on PS4, drawing millions of players following its launch.
For fans who are hoping for a more entertaining weapons lineup, it has now been confirmed that the H1Z1 arsenal is set to expand in interesting ways.
This will include a new EMP Grenade, which once implemented, will shut down cars within its radius for a short time.
The development team are also hoping to bring the Air Strike Grenade to H1Z1, which calls in an air strike at its location for maximum destruction.
Here’s more from Daybreak on another idea they have to improve gameplay through Weapon Slot changes: “We’re working to provide a way for players to swap a weapon into their preferred slot location – for example, when you pick up a shotgun and it defaults to your left slot, we want to allow you to be able to move it into your bottom slot.
“Keep in mind that this will still require you to have the slot unlocked/open in order to move a weapon there (you’ll need to have looted the correct backpack already in order to access those slots).”
More on these changes should be announced by DayBreak very soon, although no release date has been confirmed for their rollout.
Sony have certainly proved themselves a dab hand at providing top PlayStation Plus bundles in 2018.
Having knocked it out the park with Bloodborne earlier in 2018, another brilliant game has been added for PS Plus June 2018.
It won’t be long before fans get their hands on XCOM 2, which will be available to download on Tuesday, June 5.
It will be joined by the likes of Trials Fusion on PS4, as well as Zombie Driver HD and Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier on PS3.
PS Vita fans, meanwhile, will be able to grab both Atomic Ninjas and Squares until early July.
But fans waiting to get their hands on the new games can spend their time with a new PS4 free games trial this weekend.
Konami are giving PS Plus subscribers in the United States and Europe the chance at trying out Metal Gear Survive.
The game came out earlier in 2018, and while not to everyone’s taste will still be worth downloading and getting your own opinion.
The Konami title can be downloaded now and will be available until 7am, BST, on Monday, June 4.
The PlayStation 5 could launch with a surprising feature, at least according to one analyst.
Despite game streaming and digital downloads becoming increasingly popular, Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter believes that the next-gen PS5 will launch with a disc drive.
The analyst made the claims during the latest episode of his YouTube show the Pachter Factor.
According to Gamingbolt, Pachter argues that the loss of disc drives would hurt the relationship between hardware manufacturers and retailers.
The survival of physical games is also good news for anybody who relies on game trade-ins.
It’s possible, however, that Sony has the means of offering trade-ins for digital releases.
A recent Sony patent suggests the company is looking at new DRM (Digital Rights Management) technology.
Instead of the unreliable method currently employed by certain companies, the proposed DRM solution will use blockchain technology.
As Finder points out, a blockchain solution would ensure that purchases are tied to the buyer forever.
PlayStation users could potentially even transfer the rights to other people.
